Malhar is the annual inter-collegiate festival of St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, and is considered one of the oldest and most prestigious cultural festivals in the city. Malhar began in 1979 and has since evolved into a vibrant celebration that attracts students from colleges across Mumbai and beyond. The festival features a diverse range of events including cultural contests in literary, performing arts, and fine arts categories, along with various workshops on different themes. The festival is completely managed, organized and run by the workforce which consists of 1200 volunteers and 130 people in the organizing committee, showcasing the remarkable organizational capabilities of the student body. The festival's mascot is an adorable frog named Puddles, which has become an iconic symbol associated with the event, perfectly complementing the monsoon-themed name "Malhar" that connects to the musical tradition of invoking rain.
